Corset Revival Project
TALENTED DESIGNERS & CREATIVE ARTISTS WANTED!

Are you ready to write fashion history’s new chapter?
We’re calling on visionary designers, artists, students and makers to join in the:
Corset Revival Project
This unique challenge will transform 150 donated corsets into stunning, reimagined garments.
These corsets have been saved from landfill.
By bringing them back to life, you will help preserve their history, reduce unnecessary disposal, and show how timeless fashion can be worn in many ways — from bold statement looks to most treasured everyday garments.
Benefits to taking part
As a participating designer, you will :
- Showcase your talent at a global fashion event.
- Exhibit your design at the International Circular Fashion Week Conference 2026
- Get professional photography of your finished work.
- Achieve media exposure through our sustainability and fashion networks
- Potentially feature in media and press stories about creativity, heritage, sustainability and innovation.
- Take part in an exhibition and sale, with all proceeds supporting St. Gemma’s Hospice Charity.
- Inclusion in a professional publication featuring selected designs, which will be available for purchase, giving your work lasting visibility and recognition.
Through custodianship of one of our corsets, you will gain creative freedom, professional exposure, and the chance to contribute to heritage, sustainability, and charity while leaving a lasting mark through both exhibitions and publication.
The rules:
Your creation must be made entirely from discarded, reclaimed, or surplus materials no new fabrics allowed.
Your design should highlight innovation, craftsmanship, and the corset as a contemporary garment. Inspired by centuries of fashion history.
Designers cover postage (sending/returning).
We’re selective:
Only 150 places are available — one for each saved corset. We’re looking for unique ideas that prove fashion can be loved, valued, and reinvented for years to come.
How to apply:

Deadline for submission of application: 10/10/2025
A successful applicant will be notified by 24/10/2025
The Corsets will be sent to the participants by the first week of November
Alternatively, the corsets can all be collected from The Leeds Beckett University City Campus
Deadline for completed corsets to be returned 16/01/2026
Join us in keeping fashion treasures out of landfill, and share your transformation with the world at our exclusive fashion show finale.
Important Note: Custodianship of Corsets
By joining the Corset Revival Project, you become a custodian of the corset, not the owner. This means:
- The corset is loaned to you for the purpose of creating your upcycled design.
- You are responsible for transforming it with care and creativity, but without taking it apart. YOU MUST KEEP IT WHOLE AS A CORSET.
- You do not keep the corset once the project concludes.
This ensures that all 150 donated corsets can be showcased, celebrated, and preserved as part of this unique project.
